International cooking workshop

Navázat mezinárodní kontakt není úplně typická náplň školního dne, středa 4. ledna 2017 však byla výjimkou. Díky dobrovolníkům, kteří se účastní projektu Erasmus+, jsme měli šanci seznámit se se zajímavými mladými lidmi z různých koutů světa a jejich kulturami.

Celé dopoledne jsme s našimi novými kamarády trávili čas v kuchyni, kde jsme si povídali a společně vařili pokrmy podle tradičních národních receptů. Výběr jídel byl velmi pestrý od tortilly española, kterou pekl Santi ve spolupráci s Michaelem, přes ukrajinské vareniky v podání Anastasiie a Karolíny, albánský burek připravovaný Erlindou a Lukášem, arménské plněné papriky, které připravila Soňa s Adrianou, gruzínské mchadi s pečenými lilky plněnými ořechovou nádivkou, které vykouzlila Nini, za asistence Tadeáše a Míši, až po božské tiramisù, které připravoval Nicola spolu se Štěpánem a Danem. Při vaření jsme spolu diskutovali nad výrobními postupy, ale také jsme se dozvěděli spoustu zajímavých informací o jejich národních zvyklostech a přitom jsme zjistili, že to s naší angličtinou není vůbec špatné.

S připravenými pokrmy jsme se přesunuli ke slavnostně prostřeným stolům, kde jsme společně ochutnali pro nás netradiční, ale velmi dobré a zajímavé pokrmy.

Po vynikajícím obědě následovaly prezentace o zemích, ze kterých dobrovolníci pocházejí. Přiblížili nám svůj domov, svoje národní zvyky, překrásnou přírodu a nádherná starobylá města. Jako poslední přišla na řadu prezentace o České republice v podání Lukáše. Největší ovace sklidilo téma české pivo.

Celý den probíhal, od prvotního setkání ve dveřích až po sladkou tečku v podobě kávy a tiramisu, v naprosté pohodě.  Slovo tiramisù vzniklo z tirami su a znamená ve volném překladu

„rozvesel mě“, vzhledem k pohodě, která nás po celý den provázela, byl závěrečný moučník umocněním celého dne.

Za všechny zúčastněné můžeme říci, že se náš společný cooking workshop vydařil, jsme rádi, že jsme mohli být jeho součástí a těšíme se na další setkání.

Cooking – new passion, new friends, great day!

During the end of the last year 2016, we volunteers got informed about a workshop, that we were going to have during January 2017. The topic of the workshop was “Cooking our traditional dishes”, together with students from Euroskola. In advance, we all wrote our receipts and were ready for the workshop.

January 4 came pretty soon and now we all 6 were in front of Euroskola to have the cooking workshop. The header of the school, teachers and all students were so friendly and enthusiastic about this cooperation.

So the idea was that we 6 had to represent to Czech students our national cuisine. Each of us had one or 2 assistants to help us preparing our dishes.

After 3 hours, lots of jokes and sharing things about our countries we finished the cooking. We all gathered in a big beautiful room, tasting our dishes and enjoying our time. One by one each of us made a short presentation about respective countries. It was a very nice moment, because we travelled at once in 7 beautiful countries Albania, Armenia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, Spain and Ukraine.

At the end I would like to add that we enjoyed so much this workshop, the food was excellent and the cooperation was great.

Today we had cooking workshop at school and I decided to ask some questions with one boy, who also was cooking with us.

* Tell me something about yourself…

* As you know, my name is Tadeáš. I’m freshly 17 years old and I was born here in Czech Republic. My family comes half from Czech and half from Germany, but I actually cannot speak German so well. I’m in basics. I live in Nový Bor for 11 years with my mom, but My life is mostly in small city near Bor, called Kamenický Šenov, where my dad lives and has a restaurant. That’s maybe why I’m too close to my dream job, as a waiter, what is thing I love to do so much So because of my dream, I started to studying Euroškola in Lípa which actually changed my life for a little.

* What can you say about cooking workshop with EVS volunteers?

* From a start to maybe a half, I was pretty nervous, so I almost forgot every English word I ever learnt, but by this amazing program, I noticed that every one of you is awesome human being. It wasn’t my first Erasmus support and I hope it was´n how the last.

* Did you enjoy it? And what was the most interesting for you?

* It was absolutely wonderful and delicious noon and afternoon. Most interesting part for me, was the very first moment, when all of you came into school and I met you on corridor. That feeling of arrival if wonderful time and new friends.

* How was working in a group? And what did you do?

* Working in group, the best group (just saying), was something new, because of English using… but we’ve got you and you were nice on us by the whole time of coworking… we’ve chance to learn new delicious meal, with no meat, what is good and then we learnt more about countries where no one of us never been, isn’t that the best possible day plan, when you eat all of the things you have done?
